Your wedding brings together the people who matter most to you – and in Luxembourg they often travel in from several countries and speak several languages. Grandparents who only speak German sit next to friends from London or colleagues from Brussels. Magic is one of the few kinds of entertainment that connects all of them at once. I’m Christian Lavey – professional magician, Luxembourg resident – and I would love to add an unexpected highlight to your big day.
Magic through the course of your wedding day
Every wedding has its own rhythm. Rather than a fixed package, I fit the magic into your schedule and choose the format that suits each moment.
The drinks reception
While the two of you are busy with photos, your guests are waiting – often with people they have never met. This is the perfect time for close-up magic: I walk from group to group and perform right in front of their eyes. The ice is broken, and by the time you join the party everyone has a story to tell.
At the table between courses
During dinner I visit the tables one by one. The breaks between starter, main course and dessert feel shorter, and guests who are not seated with their best friends still have a great time.
A show for all your guests
Would you prefer something everyone can watch together? My stand-up show is funny and interactive, and the bride and groom – or guests you choose – can be invited to take part. It can even be split into two parts, for example one after the main course and one after the wedding cake.
Many couples combine formats: close-up during the reception and a short show in the evening. We will work out the mix that suits your day.

One performer, three languages
International weddings are the rule rather than the exception in Luxembourg. I perform in English, French and German, so we can choose the language that reaches most of your guests. Let me know which languages will be spoken at your wedding and I will plan accordingly.
Tips for planning the magic
- Share your timeline with me and your wedding planner or venue, so the magic fills the waiting times instead of competing with speeches.
- Close-up magic needs no stage and no technology; it happens wherever your guests are.
- For a show in front of everyone, guests should be able to see the front of the room. Tell me about the venue and we will agree on the details in advance.
- Think about where your day might have a lull – waiting for the couple, the gap before dessert. That is where magic helps most.

Magic is my full-time profession: for 20 years I have performed about 200 shows a year, on six continents and on cruise ships. Künstler Magazin named me Künstler des Jahres 2021, the International Brotherhood of Magicians gave me its Wizard Award, and I took part in the longest variety night for Guinness World Records in Würzburg. I perform at weddings throughout Luxembourg, in Trier and across the Greater Region.
